How to Erect a Cantilever System: Step-by-Step Guide for Safe and Effective Installation Installation Made Easy: A Step-by-Step Guide for Erecting Your Cantilever System Safely
So much warehouse space is wasted by horizontal storage. Posts, columns, and shelving can needlessly take up a large portion of your usable storage area. If you need to store oddly-shaped and sized items, such as pre-packaged lumber or pipes, cantilever racks provide advantages that conventional shelving simply cannot match.
Since cantilever rack uses arms, rather than beams, it is easy to change the height level of the arms. Depending on the size of your storage load, you can even add more cantilever arms to increase holding capacity. This reduces handling time and allows you to get more done in less time. When you can configure your racks exactly as you need them, stock is more accessible, enhancing productivity and accuracy across the board.
Cantilever racks, also known as lumber racks or pipe racking, are heavy-duty storage racks meant to hold long, bulky items that would otherwise be difficult to store in standard pallet racking. One of the biggest advantages to using cantilever racks in your warehouse is the easy access they provide. The open design of cantilever racking allows excellent line-of-sight to find items more easily and accurately.
Cantilever Racks are made with structural columns that support the I-beam arm. These arms are perfect for stacking and storing large pieces of:

Below are photos and installation instructions for the cantilever:
1. Attach base to the column with 4 long bolts. Add the back anchoring kickplate to the column
with the same long bolts. Use flat washer in front in front and locking washer in back in front of
nut.
2. Add arms to the column with 4 M20 (3/4”) bolts with locking washer in back next to nut. Repeat
on all columns.
3. Stand the column and secure with a forklift while standing the 2nd column.
4. Install the 4 horizontals. Horizontals attach to the columns with 4 M12 bolts. The bolts are
shared with a common column. Make sure to add the nut for the common M12 bolt while
standing second column for stability, you will need to remove the nut when adding the 3rd
column.
5. Install the 2 x-brace sets with 5 M12 bolts (4 on each corner and 1 in the middle)
6. Make sure system is level and add anchors. 2 anchors per base + 1 per kickplate in the
back. Stagger the anchoring (example: front left/middle right/kickplate left)

A cantilever is an inflexible metal structure that is supported on one end, while stretching outward horizontally on the other end. It usually extends out from a strong vertical support like a wall or storage system.
A warehouse roll-form rack system is the racking of choice for light and medium storage, while on the other hand a structural rack is often the preferred solution for higher density and thicker
applications. Structural racks are thicker and the heavier construction offers improved resistance to impact from forklifts entering and exiting the racks.
